State of Me: lmaooooo I'd rather not talk about it! Struggling a lot with mental and physical health. Bad days are very bad, and good days are few and far between. But I'm doing my best, and that's all we can do! Onto the escapism!



Steve Harrington
Stranger Things

Steve is very, very loud thanks to new canon just dropping. Season four made me feel like I've been doing a good job with him, which is a nice feeling. His voice is very loud and clear, and he's doing well in Darrow, for the most part. He's got an amazing girlfriend and an awesome best friend, and a solid support system.

He's still working at the record store, but he's getting a little restless. He knows that he can't work there forever, but he's afraid of failure and that keeps him from branching out. Maeve is doing a good job of getting him interested in more schooling without making him feel pressured, so he will probably start taking classes at the community college in the fall. Eventually, I want him to work with kids, like as a counselor or a social worker or something to that effect. That's a long way away, but I was thinking about him coaching some sort of sports team, like little league. He's good with kids, obviously, and he needs a place in Darrow to flex that particular muscle.

Lastly, I am in the very early stages of planning a home plot for him that may lead into a city plot, but I want to wait for the rest of the season to drop before getting too deep into the planning stages.

Oh, and if anyone would like to bring him any of his canonical children, that would be fantastic, thanks.

Pyre Fest Plot: He'll be there, because he's a dumbass. But he's a heroic dumbass, at least.



Klaus Hargreeves
The Umbrella Academy

Klaus is another super strong voice, and he also has new canon coming out very soon, so I am excited to see what that will bring. He's actually thriving in Darrow, which is honestly kind of a surprise.

His relationship with Obi-Wan is still going very strong, and that stability is helping him in other aspects of his life. He still drinks more than he probably should, still smokes a lot of pot, but he hasn't touched any harder drugs for a long time and he's really proud of himself for that.

He's getting a better handle on his powers thanks to lots of meditation (and being mostly sober) and has realized that he can levitate, which is something I blatantly stole from the comics. He's also been working with the Darrow Police as sort of an unofficial liaison between them and the dead, helping them solve cold cases by tracking down ghosts. It started sort of by accident (like most of Klaus's schemes seem to do) and when he realized that he could collect reward money for bringing closure to these cases, he made it sort of a business. Maybe he'll extend that to non-police people someday. Maybe he'll release an app. (Hauntr, for all your ghostly needs.)

He recently got into some trouble by chasing after a lead and got tangled up with a serial killer, but thanks to Obi-Wan, he made his way out and got the guy arrested with no reward money involved at all (awww).

I don't really have any big plans for him right now, mostly because I'm waiting to see what the new season brings. He's very stable, though. Loud as hell. I love him.

Pyre Fest Plot: He will probably go because he's also an idiot and loves a good party.



Bucky Barnes
The MCU

Bucky is my newest, and still very loud. He's sort of in a nice place right now, cultivating friendships (both regular and sexy), and can often be found jogging around town with his dog, Bopp.

I figured he wouldn't be happy in a regular job, so he's been making a living via TaskRabbit rip off, ChoreWeasel. He can work when he wants and thanks to his superpowers, he can finish big jobs in a fraction of the time so he does pretty well there.

I'm thinking that I'll give him a big item soon to shake him up, but I'm not sure what yet. Basically, he's steady but not doing too much, but that's okay. He deserves to chill out for a bit.

Pyre Festival Plot: I would like him to be involved but I have literally no idea how to get him there. He wouldn't want any part of a music festival lmao. So, he'll probably sit this one out.



Elio Perlman
Call Me by Your Name

Elio is my mainstay. His voice is always there, always fresh, and I never really have to worry about him. It's no secret how much I love this character.

Big things are afoot for him! He just graduated college, which should be a good thing but has kind of sent him into a spiral because what does he do now? He had been kind of content in Darrow but college ending has reminded him that he's trapped, and all of these big goals that he had are impossible now. He's gone through this before, but it's come to the forefront again in a big way. He's going to be a little erratic for a bit, maybe drink too much and have a big freak out, but eventually he'll be okay. He wouldn't be Elio if he wasn't being overdramatic.

Things with Oliver are really great. It's been a year since his reboot and while it was rough there for a while, they've settled into a new routine. They live together over the bookstore that Elio owns. In true indie book store fashion, it barely makes enough to stay open, but that's okay. He enjoys it and has other revenue streams, which brings me to...

His music! He's still performing at the piano bar, though he's been taking more and more gigs around town to perform his own music. He gets radio play on Darrow airwaves and has been on magazine covers and done interviews, so he gets recognized by Darrow locals sometimes, which he finds neat. His long-awaited debut album is set to come out later this summer, which brings me to..

Pyre Fest Plot: He'll be asked to perform at the festival to promote his album, but as of right now, he doesn't want to do it. This is because he's had enough of Darrow's outright traps, and also, he got kidnapped from the last festival he played. So really, his involvement is still kind of up in the air. Very much TBD. Must ponder.



Rey Skywalker
Star Wars

Rey's voice is solid, but she's in need of a little shake up. I haven't done much with her recently, but she's been going to school to become a certified mechanic and will eventually open her own shop. She's living with Ben in their little house in the countryside and is very happy out there away from the city.

I have to talk to Leah about this, but I think she would like to be involved with Obi-Wan's school in some way, and I think she would be good at it. In that same vein, I want to give her an item soon. Her last item was sad, so I'm thinking this one might be happy. Maybe her yellow lightsaber from the end of the saga.

Pyre Festival Plot: Rey is too curious for her own good and would want to explore new space as it became available, so she'll be there. Ben will also be there, because he's whipped.



Rapunzel
Tangled

Rapunzel is still reeling from Peter's loss and other than one thread to address it, I haven't had the mental bandwidth to do much with her right now.

But she'll be okay! I am considering giving her a canon update through the events of the series just to shake her up a bit and get her back on her feet. Someday I would still like to do a moonstone plot. (In the series, the moonstone is the opposite of the sunflower that gave Rapunzel her powers. Basically, the moonstone corrupts everything and makes it decaying and evil. Fun!)

Also on the horizon is her expanding her seamstress business and opening a storefront. Again, I need to talk to Leah, but I was thinking maybe she could pick up where David left off and have her clothes and some local items for sale.

Prye Festival Plot: She'll be sitting this one out for aforementioned reasons.


The Future

I am pretty content with my roster for now, and I don't really anticipate apping anyone anytime soon. (Famous last words.) The only possibility is a certain gay pirate. (No, not that one.) (Or that one.)

See above gif. Pandemic is hard. MS is hard. Depression is hard. I've been working from home for awhile now and that, along with some serious MS fatigue, has the days blurring together in a way that is pretty unsettling, but I'm doing my best. Tags are coming slower than I'd like, because sometimes my brain fog is just too much to combat. I am so tired all the time and it bums me out. But I'm doing my best!


Onto the idiots~




Klaus Hargreeves

Klaus is my newest pup, which means that he's the loudest, and he has the most going on. Most of his siblings are in the city, and they all are living together in one house that I assume is always a little chaotic. He's also found himself in an undefined but serious kind of relationship with Obi-Wan Kenobi, which I don't think anyone expected. Klaus is very against conventional relationships and doesn't want to be tied down, but thankfully Obi-Wan's Jedi beliefs sort of line up very well with Klaus's issues in that regard. While the relationship is open, it's not at all casual anymore, and Klaus is dealing with his growing feelings there.

Also, Ben is in the city! This is a huge deal for Klaus, who has spent the bulk of his time in Darrow mourning his brother and trying to figure out who he is without Ben. Now Ben is back, but their relationship has changed because Ben has alive now, and is entirely his own person. So, they have to figure out how to balance them not being an entirely codependent entity anymore with how much they still want to be around each other.

As for his struggles with addiction, he's still walking a very fine line. He was sober for three years until a few days before he arrived in Darrow, and he's set some hard rules for himself in the city: nothing too hard, nothing he has to inject or snort. He's been drinking and smoking a lot of weed, and occasionally popping pills when everything gets to be too much. He has enough to distract him right now, so he's able to stick to this without going too overboard, but it's probably not sustainable in the long term.

Future plans: Klaus is such a chaotic, unpredictable sort of character, so I never really want to plan too much for him, but next month is the anniversary of Dave's death. It's not the first one he's had to deal with, but it is the first one since Klaus failed to keep him from enlisting in Dallas, and the first since he's started to develop feelings for someone else. That day will be very hard for him, and I plan on EPing him sort of falling off of this tightrope he's been walking. I may post it privately in his journal and keep it to his siblings and close friends, since it will be Heavy.

The only other vague plans that I have for him have to do with money. He doesn't want to get a traditional job, and I have an idea that involves him using his powers to solve crimes and collect the reward money. Because, Klaus.

No real concrete plans for the meteor plot yet, but I expect it would stir up some pretty strong feelings within him, given his history.




Elio Perlman

Another very strong voice! Elio is enjoying married life, having hit the six month mark with Oliver just recently, while also staying very busy. After his whole experience with his stalker last year, he started going to therapy, which is helping him with lots of things. In December, he spent a week as a six year old without any memories and that kind of messed him up a little, but he learned some things. After another short residency up at Kagura, he's continuing his junior year of college at Barton, while also working at Keynote as a featured performer and playing gigs around town. He was also working at Graymark Books part-time, but I don't think that's quite feasible with his busy schedule, so I think he probably would have quit that job.

He's also in the beginning stages of recording an album, which is a big deal. In canon, he went on to become a very successful pianist, and in Darrow he is trying to come to terms with the fact that he won't be able to tour the world. His dreams are coming true on a much, much smaller scale, and he's warring with being grateful for the opportunity while also wishing it could be more. Overall, he's a very stable voice in my head, but he hasn't gotten much action lately. He could probably use an EP.

Future plans: above mentioned recording, but not much aside from that. He's another pup that's easier to just play by ear.

Meteor plot plans: Valentine's Day is also the anniversary of him and Oliver arriving in Darrow (give or take a day or so), and he's very married, so him and Oliver will most likely be wrapped up in each other. They'll have a post with each other, I'm sure, and for anything else, I'll see what gets posted. No concrete plans.




Rapunzel

My sweet happy girl! She's another strong voice that I haven't done much with lately, but she's doing well. Her and Peter moved in together in November, so they're dealing with the joy and growing pains that come from cohabitation. Her tailoring & design business (Fate's Design, aka her journal name) is going well! As a reminder, if your pup wants custom made clothing that reminds them of styles from home, or anything they want made, she's available! She's also has a partnership with David, where she creates limited runs of seasonal pieces for Rose Apothecary.

She's still drawing and painting, and doing the occasional open mic night, but those are just hobbies.

Future plans: Now that Peter is living with her and business is thriving, I'm thinking of having her get some sort of office space so she's not running her business out of the spare bedroom in her apartment, and she can have a safer place to meet clients, rather than going to their houses.

There is also a minor plot that I'd like to do. In an episode of the Tangled series, there is a mishap with a potion that makes everyone in the kingdom swap personalities for a day. So, Rapunzel was sullen and moody, Flynn was deeply insecure and shy, etc. I thought that would make for a fun gathering post! If there's interest, I can write something up to send to the mods.

Meteor plot: No solid plans for her just yet! She needs some.




Rey Skywalker

Another solid voice! She and Ben moved in together a few months ago, after realizing how dumb it was to keep Force Facetiming each other from across town. They turned their spare room into a neutral zone where one of them can go if they want to be alone, which I find very hilarious, but it's probably really helpful.

Back in November, the Sith throne arrived in the city, which was very hard for her. She's still struggling with her connection to Palpatine, even though she knows that her chosen family is what matters more than what's in her blood. The amount of Star Wars pups in the city is really good for her, and I'm loving all of those connections.

Otherwise, she's fixing up her vintage motorcycle and studying for whatever the Darrow equivalent of a GED is, so she can take classes and get certification so she can get a good job an auto shop, rather than working at the junk yard and taking on odd jobs.

Future plans: See above. She's going to take classes at the trade school to become a certified mechanic, and will get a job at one of the better auto shops in town. The plan is for her to eventually get her own shop that Ben will help with on the business end, but that's still pretty far out.

I also want to give her her yellow lightsaber as an item, or her toolkit with everything she needs to make it herself. As much as she likes having Luke's saber, she also wants one of her own. I also want her to have her own, because it will help kickstart discussions of what it means to be a Jedi in Darrow.

Meteor plot plans: I have to discuss it more with Ashley, but I assume she and Ben will notice the shift in energy and maybe try and figure out a way to try and help. Nothing concrete, yet.




Steve Harrington

My dumb idiot boy! His voice is solid, but I could probably do with a canon rewatch soon. He's been pretty steady, for the most part. He's still working at Phoenix Records and has moved up to shift manager. He's still living with Robin, who is dating Rue, who is roommates with Maeve, who Steve is dating. I imagine this scenario is the cause of many hilarious shenanigans.

Speaking of Maeve, that whole situation is still complicated. It was casual for awhile but now they're both dancing around their own feelings and it's coming to a head. It wouldn't be Steve Harrington without girl drama!

Future plans: He's kind of avoiding thinking about it for now, but I would like to get him in some community college classes, because I would eventually like him to get him a job working with kids in some capacity, since he's so good with them. I think he would kind of need a nudge to realize that this would actually be a viable option for him.

Also, he's going to get his ass kicked soon, because I can't let go of the canon tradition of him getting the shit beaten out of him once a year.

Meteor plot plans: Nothing concrete yet! I am open to suggestions. Maybe he can get into a fight with a conspiracy theorist and I can kill two birds with one stone.




Derek Hale

Oh, sad wolf. I'm not going to lie; I am struggling with Derek a lot. He's been in Darrow for almost eight years, and he's lost so many people. His voice isn't as strong for me anymore, and I am not sure how much a canon rewatch would even really help, since my Derek has evolved from canon so much. Still, I could try. It couldn't hurt, even though watching Teen Wolf is kind of painful. I really wish he had some canonmates in the city, but that's a big ask, I know.

I don't want to drop him, and that isn't currently something that I'm thinking about. He's stable right now, in terms of his life in Darrow, with two successful businesses (and a side hustle). He has good friends, and is steadfastly ignoring the possibility of romantic relationships, since he thinks that he's cursed to lose everyone he loves. This may seem dramatic, but his track record both in canon and Darrow support this. He tried the whole casual sex thing, but that isn't super easy for him, either.

Basically, he needs a jumpstart, but I don't know what that is just yet. A canon update? A big plot? I'll have to ponder, and I'm open to suggestions.

Future plans: ???

Meteor plans: Nothing yet, but he'd be down to get involved in any drama. The moon will be a crescent when it happens, so he won't be super duper wolfy, but he'll be around.


The Future

I am super content with my roster for now! I have no plans to app anyone else, but that's always true until someone takes me by surprise.

Me: Meh. Nothing much to report. I am dealing with some serious work burnout. The summer is the busiest period of the year at my office, so much so that there's a vacation blackout for June and July, and a bunch of new responsibilites were heaped on me after a coworker quit. The chronic fatigue and pain, along with the heat sensitivity, from my MS pretty much makes it so that I'm a useless blob after work, which in turn is making me pretty depressed. I'm hoping that when work slows down and the weather starts to cool, things will be better for me. Summer is just a really rough time. And now, onto the idiots.




Steve Harrington - Stranger Things

Steve is my newest pup, and he's such a joy to play. I've become so invested in his character arc and the headcanons that I have come up with are endless. He's adjusting pretty well to Darrow, even though he misses his kids. He doesn't miss Hawkins that much, or even his parents really, but he does miss those damn kids.

He's doing especially well now that Robin has showed up, and he is realizing that he can just be friends with a girl without wanting to date her. What a concept! Overall, he's pretty relieved to leave Hawkins behind, and the douchebag persona he curated along with it. He's really working hard to become a better person, and having a lesbian for a best friend is going to help him sort of learn about what the world is like beyond being a straight white dude, and I'm excited for that. I do think Steve is ultimately a good person who lost his way a bit, and he's working on it.

I would like him to maybe go to the community college, since I don't think he would even attempt Barton, and perhaps eventually get a job doing something with kids. Maybe he can even take over the position left vacant by one of my former pups, Jack Zimmermann, as Activies Director at a day camp.

I want so many threads with him! He wants to adopt all the youths and make out with all the ladies and never scoop ice cream again.



Elio Perlman - Call Me by Your Name

This idiot. He had a pretty terrifying run in with a lake monster during the Darkness plot that shook him up for a bit, but otherwise he's pretty sickeningly happy. Oliver proposed and while Elio knew it was coming eventually, it happened a lot sooner than he thought it would and he's really happy about it.

He still struggles with guilt over being happy in Darrow, because he misses his parents so badly that sometimes he just cries about it. Elio is the only pup I've ever played that actually had a good, healthy relationship with parents who were still around, so he has a little bit of a harder time accepting that he'll never get to go home. He's a complicated boy full of emotions, but playing him makes me really happy.

Elio is excited for classes to start up again, the nerd, and I think in his very minimal downtime (he's a full-time student with two jobs) he may start tinkering around with making an album.



Rapunzel - Tangled

This girl is doing just fine. She got kidnapped (AGAIN) during the Darkness plot and in the process of escaping revealed her powers to a lot of people, which makes her pretty nervous, but luckily everyone who might have seen were good people who probably wouldn't tell anyone or take advantage of what she can do, so she's trying not to worry about it too much.

She has a boyfriend! She's dating Peter Graham, and I find the pairing of a girl from a bright, happy Disney movie and a boy from a dark, scary horror film pretty fascinating. Their relationship is progressing really naturally and she's really happy. Her seamstress business is going well, and I think I might start having her play at more open mic nights. Nothing too big on the horizon for her right now, and that's okay.



Derek Hale - Teen Wolf

Oh, Derek. He is really, really struggling and I am in turn struggling with him. He's been in the game for over six years now, so obviously he has lost a lot of people who were very important to him. Losing his fiance has hit him especially hard, and he's never been so miserable. For a guy whose entire canon plotline and personality were basically founded on misery, that's really saying something. I almost wish that someone in game would be willing to turn their pup into a werewolf so he would be less alone in that regard, but at the same time I don't think he would give anyone the bite if they asked. That hasn't gone well for him in the past.

He moved out of the cabin he renovated and shared with Barry and is now renovating/living in a place by the lake. (I am imagining it being Harley's old place that Ellie shot the windows out of, but that isn't set in stone.)

I really want him to get out and meet more people, and maybe even have some rebound flings/hook-ups to get him out of his head a little bit, so if anyone is interested in some hot werewolf action just hit me up~

He isn't in danger of being dropped just yet, I don't think. Derek was the first character I ever RP'd and what brought me into this game, and I am so, so attached to him. I really want to get him through his rough patch.

State of Me:

I am back at it after a hiatus that was a lot longer than I intended it to be. My mental heath was bad in a really scary way, and then I very unexpectedly lost my dog in a freak accident. It sparked an even deeper depression that I couldn't seem to claw my way out of. I am still struggling, but I am slowly getting better. I can see colors again. I can write again. I'm really glad to get back to being creative. Koda was my best friend and I miss him every single day, but I am trying to be happy like I know he would want me to be.


And now, for the puppies:



Derek Hale
Derek is actually doing pretty well. In May, he will have been in Darrow for five years, and that is just crazy to me. He's grown so much as a person, matured and learned how to let himself be happy. My only worry with him is that if someone were to app from his canon, he would seem out of character. But really, he's just developed into a fully functional human being werewolf.

He's lost some people and that's been really hard for him, but he's been pushing forward. The brick and mortar version of his food truck, The Bite, is going to open in early February. Realistically, it should have opened by now, but my hiatus got in the way and I didn't want to handwave the opening. He's still going strong with Barry and moonlighting as the Alpha to his Flash, living that sexy fun double life.



Rapunzel
My most precious sundrop~ She's the one thriving the most in Darrow, so of course I'm thinking about the possibility of canon updating her with the events of Tangled: The Series so she knows what she's missing back home. Not sure if I want to pull that evil trigger just yet, though. She is still working part time at the art supply store, but the main source of her income is her custom clothing business. She's always taking commissions!

I don't have much in the way of plans for her right now, other than maybe putting something together for her 22nd birthday. I would really like her to go on a date, but the poor kid can't seem to catch a boy's attention. (Insert heartfelt plea for someone to app Eugene Fitzherbert, pls.)



Jack Zimmermann
Jack is doing really well. He has taken a path in Darrow that I didn't quite expect. He still misses hockey like he would miss a limb, but he's slowly starting to realize that it isn't going to happen for him. I really enjoy that he's working with kids/teens and coaching sports. It's been really good for him, and I would love for him to be sort of a mentor/big brother type to kids who may be struggling. No real big plans for him right now, other than trying to keep his boyfriend from stressing himself to death and supporting him while he works with Derek on the restaurant.



Kara Danvers
To be honest, Kara is the only pup that I'm sort of struggling with. She hasn't really found a place in Darrow like I hoped that she would. That's probably on me. I need to get her out there more and catch up on her canon to try and reinvigorate her voice. I'm not ready to give up on her yet, because I really do love her.

Elio Perlman
Okay, no lie, I don't think I have ever been so excited to app a pup. If you've spent more than five seconds in my presence lately, I'm sure you're aware that I fell hard and fast for Call Me By Your Name, and Elio especially. He's such a great character, and I cannot wait to inflict his overdramatic teenage ass on everyone. His app is already written, and I just have to make February reqs before I can submit it.

Everyone prepare for Laurent's big bro! Hailing from the Captive Prince series, Auguste is going to show up from the moment of his death and mess stuff up and disarm people with his smile. He was the crown prince of an ancient nation and the commander of a giant army, so he'll find being a civilian in a modern city pretty disarming. I'm really excited about him.
